Viking Village Foteviken

In a rare scenic area near the beach, right next to the town Höllviken, the ever-growing Foteviken Viking village of 70,000 square meters expands. With great enthusiasm and experience it is here shown how a former society worked and what a wonderful historical and maritime heritage we have here in Skåne.

This different museum, which attracts more and more visitors every year, can, among other things, proudly be the world's only "Viking reservation". When you arrive at Foteviken's Viking village you can feel as you have just traveled in a time machine.
You step into a newly built Viking society with houses from the 11th century reconstructed in full scale, surrounded by fascinating traces of humans as far back as the Stone Age. Here, everything is created according to old craftmenship principles, historical sources and archaeological findings.

Fotevikens Viking village is the ultimate place to visit for those who are interested in the Vikings and their way of living. Here comes long-term guests to stay in typical Viking manor in the Viking houses (a little more modern accommodation is available for those who prefer it). Here you have a chance to experience a unique culture as well as good food and drinks at Krog Viking, where the food is of excellent Scanian quality.

Every year, this Viking village arranges a new "Battle of Foteviken". The participants of the organized training camp gather on the beach where the great battle originally stood on June 4, 1134, and the game starts again, though in a somewhat more peaceful way.

Last week of June each year the Viking market takes place, and is with its 500 Viking participants from different countries, one of the largest in the Nordic region.
